It’s been about 2 weeks since I’ve been back from Napa and so I thought I would put together a little blog post on what to pack for a Napa girls getaway. Even though I had never been to California, I really feel like I packed perfectly for our trip and I wanted to share that with all of you lovelies for when you plan a trip to Napa.

What To Pack For A Napa Girls Getaway

We did go to Napa in the fall, October 10-13, but the temps during the day were warm enough for shorts and t-shirts (though I did not bring those). It’s a good thing I decided to pack layers instead of long sleeves because the morning was nice and cool but once the sun was up in the sky it was beautifully warm.

It’s crazy to me that the temps varied from in the 30s-40s at night to up to 80 during the day. I did do some research and expected a little of this so I ended up packing two outfits per day so when we were done with wine tasting during the day we could change into something warmer for our nightly dinners.

I have mentioned before that I like to try and mix and match my outfits as much as I can. So you’ll see the same pair of jeans and shoes for pretty much all the days that I was there but with a random exception. Though I did end up packing 5 pairs of shoes ?‍♀️ and I’m not sure why as I only wore 3 different ones and I probably could have just gotten away with 2 pair. I also added a couple extra camis for layering just in case one of them got stained… which did happen on my drive to the airport… ugh!

Anyway, we were also only in Napa for 2 full days and then one afternoon/night and one morning. It really was a short weekend getaway but the perfect time for a relaxing trip for my mom.

So let’s get to it! Everything I packed for a Napa girls getaway.

Wednesday Day:

This was our travel morning so this is what I actually wore on the plane. Since I knew I was going to be doing things as soon as we landed, I made sure I had a cute outfit on so I didn’t have to change at the airport.

Wednesday Night:

After lunch in San Fran, visiting the bay, and taking way too many pictures at the Golden Gate bridge we made our way to Napa. Once we got there and checked into our hotel it was almost dark. Temps were falling so we did a quick change before heading out for dinner.

Thursday Day:

Our Wine Train Day! This day was so fun and I actually packed two different dresses because I didn’t know which one I wanted to wear and let my sisters help me decide.

Thursday Night:

After the wine train my best friend from San Diego met us at the hotel to surprise my mom for her birthday. It was the best surprise and after hanging out for a few we all changed and headed to downtown for dinner. Since it was getting cooler outside I packed another sweater.

Friday Day:

Friday was a “free day” and we explored a couple wineries on our own and went to lunch before heading to downtown Napa for a little shopping, exploring, and dinner.

Friday Night:

I packed this outfit in anticipation of wearing it but it didn’t actually get cold enough for me to so I just kept on the outfit I wore for the day tasting and shopping.

Saturday Day:

The day that we left beautiful Napa. I planned on wearing the same cardigan and a different cami home but I was so tired from the trip that I just ended up wearing the same grey sweater and crop jeans that I wore out to dinner on Thursday.

Full Packing List:

Tops: I think that tops can really make or break an outfit. They either make you look really dressed up or really dressed down. I wanted to look nice but not too dressed up.

  • 1 layering cami
  • 2 chiffon camis
  • Chiffon Tank
  • Satin “t-shirt’
  • 2 Sweaters
350

Dresses:

  • 2 Maxi Dresses (only because I couldn’t decide which pattern)
350

Jeans: jeans are totally acceptable at most places in the valley and even most of the restaurants. If you’re going to dinner I recommend dark wash jeans with a nice top and cute booties or shoes for a dressed up casual look. Or you could always wear a maxi or midi dress. I wore jeans for everything except the wine train.

  • 1 pair dark wash crop jeans
  • 1 pair white crop jeans

Shoes: You’re going to be doing a lot of walking while you’re in Napa so pack accordingly. The brown booties I packed are so comfortable that I can walk all day in them even though they have a 3 inch heel. If that’s not your style, pack nice flats instead.

  • Brown booties
  • Wedge sandals (for maxi dress)
  • Black booties
350

Outerwear: it can get cold in the valley at night so plan on packing a few layers. They also come in handy when you’re heading out early to catch an air balloon ride or the Napa Valley Wine train.

  • Grey cardigan
  • Jean Jacket
  • Brown Suede Jacket
350

Accessories: I heard that weather can change rapidly in the valley so you should be prepared. I didn’t end up using all of these but I’m glad I packed them just in case.

  • Sunnies
  • Travel Umbrella (didn’t end up needing)
  • Crossbody purse
  • Sun Hat (could have used but didn’t)
  • Camera (duh!)

There you have it! My list of everything I packed for our Napa girls getaway. Is there anything that I should pack for next time?
