a little about me

01

I was born in Michigan but grew up on the beautiful beaches of the sunshine state, aka, Florida. I moved back to Michigan in 2009 and lived there for 6 years before moving again and finally (hopefully) settling down in Fort Worth, TX.

02

I’ve lived in 5 different states in my short life… Florida, Arizona, South Carolina, Michigan, and finally Texas.

All because I met my amazing husband while attending school for Nuclear Medicine and a few years into our relationship he decided to go to medical school.

03

The hubby and I been together for more than 14 years, married for 6, and have 4 children – Alyssa, Aubrey, Alivia, and Aidan – a corgi and a cat.

04

We have a family of 6 and I also grew up in a family of 6. I have 2 sisters and a brother – of which I am the oldest – and they both still live in Florida.

05

I’m a huge procrastinator, slight perfectionist, spur-of-the-moment decision maker, and outgoing-introvert. I also love being outdoors and you can catch me at the beach just about any day it is sunny and warm out.

06

I feel like I’ve been in school all my life… and I have three degrees to prove it!

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I write a guest post for your blog?

Blogging

At this time I am not accepting any guest posts. Be sure to check back in the future to see if I decided to open the guest posting again.

Can I republish your recipes?

Recipes

Thanks for asking! All of the recipes on Jennifer Meyering are copyrighted. Please do not repost my recipes verbatim without permission.  If you tried a recipe yourself, I love that you want to share one of my recipes! Feel free to use the ingredients list, but write the instructions in your own words and include an obvious link back to my original recipe post. I’d also prefer if you used your own photo along with it (why not show them what you made, rather than what I made?).

I tried one of your recipes but it did not turn out. What did I do wrong?

Recipes

As I am not there in the kitchen with you, it is very hard for me to specifically answer this question. Oven temperature, cooking times, ingredient substitutions, and many other things can all play a role in the specific outcome of a dish.

Can I substitute this ingredient?

Recipes

It is recommended to use the specified ingredients listed within the recipe whenever possible as that is what has been tested and proven to work. If there are dietary restrictions or you just do not have an ingredient on hand, substitutions can be made but please remember that I cannot speak for how much this will change to overall dish. Substitutions may also result in undesirable outcomes.

Can you give me the nutritional information for this recipe?

Recipes

The specific ingredients used in each recipe can vary extensively from one person to the next. If you’re looking for this information, please plug the exact ingredients you use into any of the free online calorie counters, like this one.

How did you get started blogging?

Blogging

Since having to move across the country several times with my husband, my original career of Nuclear Medicine had fallen by the way-side. It was hard to keep finding jobs every time we moved. So one summer, in 2010, I decided to became a Beachbody Coach and my blogging adventure began soon thereafter. I wanted a way to document my fitness journey as a coach, help inspire others to begin their journeys, and share everything else that happened in my little life.

In the beginning, I only blogged about my fitness transformation and health & fitness tips, but didn’t really take it much further than that. I was shy to the idea of truly opening up to people and letting them into my world. However, just about a year ago, I started posting about everything else that was happening in my life and since I am a work-from-home mom, it gave me a little bit more to do during the day and started sparking my creative side again.

Blogging has been such an unexpected gift, in that it has renewed my creative side and opened me to a whole world of other people who inspire and encourage me daily.

So, thank you for coming along for the ride. You make me more passionate about what I do everyday!
