San Diego, CA

San Diego is a city that has it all: sunny weather, beautiful beaches, diverse culture, and amazing food. So, when my hubby’s work conference took him there recently, I knew I had to tag along and turn it into a mini adventure! Mainly because my best friend lives in San Diego and I haven’t seen her in about 8 years!

While he dove into meetings, we decided to make the most of our time and explore the city’s culinary scene, from tacos to oysters, and everything in between. In this post, I’ll share with you our itinerary, our favorite dishes, and our tips for enjoying San Diego’s food culture.

Let me tell you, San Diego did not disappoint.

Here’s what we ordered:

  • Octopus and squid ink pasta: This was a delicious dish, with tender octopus and flavorful pasta. The squid ink added a rich and earthy taste to the sauce.
  • T-bone lamb chop: This was a huge and juicy piece of meat, cooked to perfection and served with roasted vegetables. The lamb was tender and succulent, and the vegetables were crisp and fresh.
  • Oysters: We ordered a dozen of fresh oysters, served on ice with lemon and cocktail sauce. The oysters were plump and briny, and tasted like the ocean.
