The 75 Hard Style Challenge: Week 7

Another week of the 75 Hard Style Challenge is in the books, and this one felt like a turning point in more ways than one. I wrapped up the last of my outfit sets, did a little thrifting and donating, and found myself reflecting on how much my style—and my mindset—has shifted since the start of this journey. There were lazy days, productive days, and even a little Valentine’s Day fun, all leading up to a big trip to NYC.

The 75 Hard Style Challenge: Week 7

I’m learning to give myself grace on the weekends, embrace the days when I just want to be comfy, and celebrate the progress I’ve made in curating a wardrobe (and a routine) that actually works for my life.

Here’s how week 7 went!

Weekly Reflections

This week really highlighted how much my relationship with style and shopping has evolved. I noticed that I’m no longer satisfied with just jeans and a tee—while it’s easy and comfortable, I genuinely feel better and more productive when I put in a little extra effort, even on the laziest days. At the same time, I’m learning to give myself permission to relax and not feel guilty about dressing down, especially on weekends.

I also had a moment of honesty with myself after spending at Homesense. While I felt a little down about it, I realized that part of this challenge is about progress, not perfection. It’s okay to slip up sometimes, as long as I’m mindful and keep moving forward.

Finishing out my last outfit sets felt like a milestone, and it was satisfying to donate and sell clothes that no longer serve me. Letting go of old pieces and making space for new finds—especially with a trip to NYC on the horizon—reminded me that style is always evolving, and so am I.

Daily Outfit Diary

2/12: Lazy Day & Jeans Realizations

Today I was feeling kind of lazy, so I just threw on jeans and a t-shirt. I’m a little down after spending money at Homesense yesterday, even though I found some cute things for my office. This t-shirt is more structured and cropped than others I own, and I like it better. I’m realizing I’m not much of a jeans-and-tee girl anymore—I prefer to look a little more put together. These Levi ribcage cropped straight leg jeans are a favorite, and I love the slight flare at the bottom for a more flattering silhouette.

2/13: Cropped Jeans + White Boots

Tried something new today by styling my cropped jeans with white boots, and it turned out great! I didn’t think the boots had a tall enough shaft, but they worked perfectly. We went out to scout locations for a possible new business, which was exciting. I wore another pair of my favorite Levi Ribcage cropped jeans and a fun purple top.

2/14: Valentine’s Day Pink & Brown

Happy Valentine’s Day! We planned to go out to brunch, but the weather had other ideas with a downpour. I went festive with pink pants and a white bodysuit, then layered a fun cardigan over top for warmth. I’m not sure I love the pink with this shade of brown, but I’m rocking it anyway. Most times, I realize things look better than my brain tells me.

2/15: Last of the Outfit Sets

Another lazy day and one of my final outfit sets. I have one more for tomorrow, and then I’ll have officially worn all my sets. This black one might be the only one I’d consider wearing out of the house, but I’m still not sure. I realized I want to keep dressing up every day after this challenge, but also give myself grace on weekends. I feel more productive when I get dressed, so it should fit naturally into my life, with weekends as my time to relax.

2/16: Spa Day & Comfy Set

Today was the last of my outfit sets, and it was a fantastic day. My husband and I went to a spa for massages and spent time in the hot tubs, sauna, and cold plunge. The outfit set was perfect for changing between activities and kept me warm and comfy. We even picked up dinner for the kids on the way home, and I felt put together instead of frumpy.

2/17: Errands & Go-To Sweater

I didn’t think I’d need a jacket today, but ended up throwing on a sweater for morning errands. We’re considering opening a new business, so we drove around to check out possible locations. The sweater didn’t last long—just the morning—because Texas winters are unpredictable. This is my go-to, throw-and-go sweater when I don’t have anything else planned.

2/18: Thrifting, Donating, and NYC Prep

Started the day with long sleeves and a jacket, but ended up in just a long sleeve tee. I did a little thrifting before heading to NYC tomorrow and found a couple of gems I can’t wait to wear. I also donated four bags of old clothes to Goodwill and sold some more to a consignment shop. I didn’t make as much as last time, but it’s better than nothing and feels good to clear out space.

What I’m Learning

This week, I’m learning that my style is evolving faster than I expected. I’m no longer content with just throwing on jeans and a tee—I feel more confident and productive when I put in a little extra effort, even if it’s just swapping a basic top for something with more structure or color. I’m also realizing that it’s okay to have lazy days and to give myself grace, especially on weekends. The key is finding a balance that feels good for me, rather than sticking to rigid rules.

I’m also learning to be more mindful about my spending and to forgive myself when I slip up. Progress isn’t always linear, and it’s important to celebrate the small wins—like letting go of clothes that no longer serve me, or making space for new pieces that truly fit my style.

As I prep for my NYC trip, I’m excited to see how my wardrobe choices reflect this new sense of intention and self-awareness. Every week, I’m getting a little better at curating a closet (and a mindset) that supports the life I want to live.

My Current Wardrobe “Needs” List

As I continue to refine my closet, I’m keeping my wardrobe wish list front and center. There are still a few pieces I’m searching for.

The 75 Hard Style Challenge: Week 7 - Wish List

This week, I also donated four bags of old clothes and sold some more to a consignment shop, making space for new finds and keeping my wardrobe intentional and clutter-free.

With a couple of new thrifted gems waiting to be washed and worn, I’m excited to see what else I can cross off in the weeks ahead!

Wins, Challenges, and Surprises

Wins:

  • Finished wearing all of my outfit sets and felt good about letting go of the ones that no longer fit my style or lifestyle.
  • Donated four bags of clothes and sold more to consignment, making real progress on keeping my wardrobe intentional and clutter-free.
  • Tried new outfit combinations (like cropped jeans with white boots) and felt more confident experimenting with my style.
  • Found a couple of thrifted gems right before my NYC trip, adding excitement to my wardrobe refresh.

Challenges:

  • Felt a little down after spending at Homesense, but used it as a learning moment to be more mindful about shopping and to forgive myself for slip-ups.
  • Still working on balancing productivity and self-grace—wanting to dress up every day but also allowing myself to relax on weekends.
  • Some days, struggled with feeling “put together” versus just being comfortable, especially on lazy days.

Surprises:

  • Realized how much more productive and confident I feel when I put in a little extra effort with my outfits—even on days when I’m tempted to just throw on jeans and a tee.
  • Noticed that my style is evolving faster than I expected, and that I’m genuinely excited to keep refining my wardrobe.
  • The process of donating and selling old clothes felt more freeing and satisfying than I thought it would.

Looking Ahead

With week 7 wrapped up, I’m feeling both accomplished and excited for what’s next. I’m heading to NYC tomorrow, and I can’t wait to see how my evolving style and more intentional wardrobe choices play out while I’m traveling. I’m looking forward to exploring new outfit combinations, maybe finding a few more thrifted treasures, and just soaking up the inspiration that comes from being in a new city.

I also want to keep building on the progress I’ve made—continuing to let go of what doesn’t serve me, being mindful about new purchases, and giving myself grace on the days when I need it. Whether it’s prepping for a new business venture, dressing up for a special occasion, or just enjoying a lazy weekend, I’m excited to keep growing, experimenting, and having fun with my style journey.
