It’s Friday and I’m definitely ready for a cocktail… how about you? Even though we’re still quarantined, it’s been a crazy week.

The kiddos are going stir-crazy and I don’t blame them. Honestly, they’ve been champs through this whole thing and we’ve been spending lots of time in the backyard and trying our best to keep occupied.

But today momma just wants to relax with a drink in hand and soak up the sun – so I’m bringing you a delicious Peach Moscow Mule that I am absolutely loving recently.

Peach Moscow Mule

What is Peach Moscow Mule?

The Moscow Mule is a classic cocktail that originated in the 1940s. Traditionally made with vodka, ginger beer, and lime juice, it has become a beloved favorite among cocktail enthusiasts.

But don’t worry, we’re adding a delightful twist by incorporating fresh peaches and other complementary ingredients into the mix.

The result? A vibrant and fruity variation that will take your taste buds on a tantalizing journey.

Why You’ll Love this Recipe

Picture this: the sun shining down, a gentle breeze ruffling your hair, and a perfectly chilled Peach Moscow Mule in your hand.

This cocktail is not only refreshing but also incredibly satisfying. The sweet and tangy flavors of the peach combine harmoniously with the zesty lime juice and the subtle heat of ginger beer.

It’s like sipping a taste of summer, no matter what time of year it is. Trust me, you won’t be able to resist its irresistible allure.

Ingredients

To create the perfect Peach Moscow Mule, you’ll need the following ingredients:

  • 1/2 fresh peach, diced: Choose a ripe peach for maximum flavor.
  • 1 oz lime juice: Freshly squeezed lime juice adds a zingy kick.
  • 1/2 oz peach nectar: This enhances the peach flavor and adds sweetness.
  • 2 oz vodka: Use your favorite brand of vodka for a smooth base.
  • 1 oz peach schnapps: More peachy goodness to elevate the taste.
  • 4 oz ginger beer: Look for a quality ginger beer with a nice balance of spice.
  • 1/2 oz Grand Marnier liqueur: This optional floater adds a touch of elegance.

Substitutions & Additions

If you want to make some changes or add your own personal touch to the Peach Moscow Mule, here are a few suggestions:

  • Fresh fruits: Experiment with different fruits like strawberries or raspberries for added variety.
  • Honey or agave syrup: If you prefer a sweeter cocktail, substitute the peach nectar with honey or agave syrup in equal amounts.
  • Mint leaves: Muddle a few mint leaves with the diced peaches for a refreshing twist.
  • Non-alcoholic version: Skip the vodka, peach schnapps, and Grand Marnier liqueur for a mocktail version. Just increase the amount of peach nectar and ginger beer to compensate for the missing alcohol.

How to Make this Recipe

This drink is delicious but also deadly so watch out! Haha!

Grab you shaker cup and drink muddler and add your sliced peaches, lime juice, and peach nectar to the bottom of the cup. Muddle lightly until the peached are fully crushed.

Add the vodka, peach schnapps then fill 1/2 way with ice and cover. Shake vigorously for 30 seconds to incorporate and fully chill the drink.

Double strain into a glass filled with fresh crushed ice. Top with ginger beer and add a few peach sliced for garnish.

Drizzle the Grand Marnier liquor over top and serve!

Now honestly, you don’t have to strain the drink if you don’t want to. However, I’m not a huge fan of pulp so I usually always strain them. Totally up to you.

Cooking Tips & Tricks

To help you achieve the best results and cater to different preferences and dietary restrictions, here are a few tips and variations:

  • Use ripe peaches: The juicier and sweeter the peaches, the more flavorful your cocktail will be. Look for peaches that give slightly when gently pressed.
  • Play with the sweetness level: Adjust the amount of peach nectar or substitute it with honey or agave syrup to suit your taste buds.
  • Experiment with ginger beers: Some ginger beers have a stronger ginger flavor, while others are milder. Find one that complements your palate perfectly.
  • Make it a mocktail: Shy away from alcohol? No problem! Simply omit the alcoholic ingredients and increase the amount of peach nectar and ginger beer. You’ll still enjoy a refreshing and fruity beverage.
