I think my husband is officially addicted to video games. It’s crazy to me because when we met he didn’t play video games at all.
Then after we had kids and started acquiring different video game systems, he still wasn’t all that interested.
Now, all-of-a-sudden, after purchasing the Star Wars video game for our oldest and bringing the Xbox upstairs from the basement he has been playing non-stop for weeks.
Maybe even months.
Yeah, let’s go with months.
Maybe it wasn’t so much the video game itself but that fact that it’s now upstairs in the living room readily available for use.
So now he can just come home from work and turn it on, regardless if I’m watching TV or not, and play for the rest of the night.
It’s honestly not that big of a deal but the fact that it cuts into my HGTV binge watching time. I mean, I need Fixer Upper and Property Brothers in my life. Haha
But in all seriousness, having him home regardless of what he’s actually doing is better than anything. With such a weird and crazy schedule all the time, it’s nice to just have him here.
Having him home gives me time to get a little more work done than I normally can in any given day.
Plus, it gives me time to sit on the couch with him with my dying laptop, while he’s playing said video games, and bang out some post writing – which I absolutely horrible at keeping up with – and also make fun cocktails for us to sip on.
Like this mango beer shandy.
I discovered the deliciousness of homemade shandy’s last year when I made a strawberry lemonade shandy. I was instantly hooked.
I’ve made a few more since then but this one might just be my favorite so far.
