It’s been some time since I’ve written about what I use to make my hair beautiful. Haha!
I feel like I say that every time I write one of these posts, but it’s true. I don’t write them that often, especially with haircare staples, because those don’t change that much or often.
However, I’ve been using these products, in this combination, for a solid year or so now and I can for sure say that I don’t think anything will change.
Of course, I’ve tried the new occasional thing that’s come out over the years. Or trying to change up what I already have with “better” things that don’t end up being better. Just being worse.
So, with that being said, here’s my brand new 2021 list of ride or die haircare staples.
Express Ion Unclipped
I honestly have no idea how long I have been using this but I absolutely love it. It comes with 3 different barrels that you can inner-change depending on the look you want and it works every. fricking. time. I have fine, thing hair that holds no curl but somehow this magic contraption works for me and my curls hold all day. Like what? Keeping forever and ever and will also buy all the size barrels that are available.
Guts 10 Volumizing Spray Mousse
I had my hair cut for the first time in a while. Like a longggggggg while. When I lived in Michigan, I always cut my hair myself, and kept that until I moved to Dallas. Then one day I figured, “WTF, let’s let someone else do it.” She used this guts mousse on my hair and I’m forever grateful. I had such a hard time finding something to contain the flyaways and giving my hair volume and this does both. I’ve literally tried everything, every product you can think of and this is the best of the best.
Dry Shampoo with Oat Milk
My sister actually introduced me to this magical hair shampoo and I love it so. I’ve tried just about all the brands and formulations you can think of and this is the only one that I have found that actually works for my hair.
Comb Through Finishing Mist
Another recommendation from my sister and I love the touchable texture that it gives me without feeling stiff or sticky. And it actually holds the curl or wave or whatever. Will never switch ever.
Blow-Dry Spray
So I picked this up on whim one day at Ulta and I actually truly love it. It gives my hair a super soft texture and cuts my blow dry time in half. Honestly, even if it didn’t cut my blow dry time, I would still use it because it heat protects and makes my hair so shiny, smooth, and soft.
One-Step Hair Dryer
I bought this baby when it first came out and have bought two more since. I love it so much and it cuts my dry and style time down significantly. Now I don’t have to straighten my hair after drying, this does both.
Mixologist Interchangeable Styling Iron
I bought this solely for the waver it came with and also in case my Paul Mitchell gave out on me at any point. Mermaid hair is super in right now and I’ve actually loved wavy hair my whole life just couldn’t reproduce until now. This coupled with the Nexxus Hairspray above makes all my hair dreams come true.
Pro Ion Flat Iron
I have to say that I have had this hair iron for years. Literally, years. Years, and years. I bought it at TJ Maxx one day when my other crapped out on me and this has been amazing for at least 8 years, maybe more. It works well, obviously for straightening, but also for curling the ends of my hair when I just want a small curl. Not sure what I’m going to do when this dies.
There you have it, there’s my ride-or-die haircare staples that I love so much. What are some of your haircare staples that you cannot live without?
