Juicy and delicious flank steak marinated in your favorite beer and grilled to perfection for a flavorful main for your next dinner.

Wow, what a stunning day to be outside! The perfect opportunity to grill up some delicious dinner and enjoy it on our brand new patio set. I’ve got my sights set on making this beer marinated flank steak for tonight’s meal, accompanied by my hubby’s all-time favorite fresh cucumber tomato salad.

This flank steak recipe is a delightful twist on my other go-to dish, the tequila marinated flank steak. It’s just as juicy and mouth-watering, which is essential when dealing with thin and tough flank steaks. Marinating the meat for at least 30-60 minutes is key to achieving that succulent texture.

Ingredients for Beer Marinated Flank Steak

Substitutions & Additions

Can’t find all the ingredients? Here’s just a few substitutions you can make:

  • Flank steak: If you can’t find flank steak, skirt steak or hanger steak are good substitutes.
  • Beer: If you don’t want to use beer, you can substitute beef broth or red wine.
  • Soy sauce: If you’re gluten-free, you can use tamari instead of soy sauce.
  • Worcestershire sauce: If you don’t have Worcestershire sauce, you can use balsamic vinegar or fish sauce.
  • Dijon mustard: If you don’t have Dijon mustard, you can use yellow mustard or whole-grain mustard.
  • Honey: If you don’t have honey, you can use maple syrup or brown sugar.
  • Garlic: If you don’t have fresh garlic, you can use garlic powder.

If you want to add some extra flavor to your steak, here are a few additional ingredients you can try:

How to make this Beer Marinated Flank Steak

To prepare a delicious flank steak, start by whisking together beer, olive oil, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, honey, and garlic in a large bowl. This marinade will infuse the meat with a rich flavor that will make your taste buds dance.

Next, season the flank steak with salt and pepper on both sides. Then, place it in a large resealable plastic bag and pour the marinade over it. Seal the bag and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or even better, overnight. This will allow the flavors to fully penetrate the meat, resulting in a tender and juicy steak.

When you’re ready to cook, preheat your grill to high heat. Remove the steak from the marinade and discard the marinade. Place the steak on the grill and cook for 6-8 minutes per side, or until it reaches your desired level of doneness. Whether you prefer rare, medium-rare, or well-done, this recipe will deliver a perfectly cooked steak every time.

Once the steak is done, let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing against the grain. This will ensure that the juices stay inside the meat, making each bite as flavorful as the last. Serve with your favorite sides and enjoy!
